Terms of Use
Terms of Use
Effective date: 18 October 2026. These terms apply to the One Prayer One Moment app and the website 1prayer.app.
One Prayer One Moment is a free app that invites Christians to pray the Our Father together at the same moment. These terms are written in plain language. By using the app or this website, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
1. Who we are
The app and website are provided by Grizelda De Nobrega, trading as Infinite Horizon Apps, a sole proprietor in South Africa (“we”, “us”). Contact: the contact form or [email protected]. See the legal information page for more details.
2. The service
- The app is free, has no ads and needs no account. Nothing in the app is sold.
- It offers scheduled prayer moments, prayer audio and text in several languages, reminders on your phone, a practice mode and anonymous totals of how many people prayed together.
- We may change, add or remove features, languages, recordings or prayer moments, and we may pause or stop the service, for example for maintenance or if it can no longer be run. We will try to give notice of important changes, but we cannot promise that the app or website will always be available, on time, or free of errors.
- Totals are counted anonymously and may be approximate. Small country numbers are deliberately rounded or hidden to protect privacy.
3. Not religious, medical or professional advice
The app offers the Lord’s Prayer (the Our Father), as shared by Christians of many churches, and short prayer intentions. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any church, denomination or religious organisation, and it does not give religious, pastoral, spiritual, medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. For guidance or support, please speak to your own church, minister or a qualified professional. If you or someone else is in danger or in crisis, contact your local emergency services.
Translations and recordings are prepared with care, but they may contain mistakes or differ from the wording used in your church. Some recordings are made with the help of voice technology. If you notice an error, please tell us.
4. How you may use the app and website
Please use them for their purpose: prayer, in good faith. You agree not to:
- send false, automated or repeated participation to inflate or distort the totals;
- try to identify other people who take part, or to get around the privacy protections;
- attack, overload, probe, scrape or reverse engineer the app, website or servers, or try to get around security or rate limits (responsible security reports are welcome through the contact form);
- use the contact form to send spam, abuse, threats, unlawful content or other people’s personal information without their permission;
- use the app, its name or content to suggest that we endorse you, your church or your product, or to mislead people.
We may block access or ignore participation or messages that break these rules.
5. Intellectual property
The app, the website, their design, artwork, logo, the name “One Prayer One Moment”, the recordings and the written content (other than the traditional prayer texts themselves) belong to us or are used with permission or under licence. You may use the app and website for your own personal, non-commercial prayer, and you are welcome to share links and invitations. You may not copy, sell, republish or redistribute the app, recordings, artwork or content, or make other apps or products from them, without our written permission.
The Lord’s Prayer belongs to all Christians. Particular translations may be protected by their own copyright holders, and we use them in good faith; if you hold rights in a text and have a concern, please contact us and we will respond promptly.
6. Voluntary support
Supporting the app is optional and unlocks nothing. Payments are covered by the separate Voluntary Support Terms.
7. Privacy
How we handle information is explained in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
8. Links and other services
The app and website link to services we do not control, such as Yoco’s payment page, app stores and Cloudflare’s spam check. Their own terms and privacy policies apply, and we are not responsible for them.
9. Provided “as is”
The app and website are provided free of charge, “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises or warranties (express or implied) that they will meet your needs, be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, that prayer moments will start at a particular time on your device, or that reminders will be delivered. Your phone’s settings, battery saving, connection and operating system can affect timing, audio and notifications.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss or damage, or for loss of data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app or website. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the app or website is limited to the total amount of voluntary support (if any) you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for gross negligence or intentional wrongdoing, or any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 that cannot be waived.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the app or the law changes. We will post the new version here with a new effective date. Changes do not apply to anything that happened before they took effect. If you keep using the app or website after a change, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, please stop using them.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the courts of South Africa have jurisdiction. If you have a complaint, please contact us first; we will try to resolve it fairly and quickly. If you live outside South Africa, you keep any protections that the law of your country gives you and that cannot be excluded.
13. General
If any part of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
